Full Moon Party 6th of November 2014 Koh Phangan, Thailand.
The Full Moon Party in November falls on one of Thailand’s famous celebrations: the festival of Loy Krathong. The tradition on this Full Moon is to float hand-made banana trunk rafts - decorated with banana leaves, tropical flowers, incense & candles - into the river or sea. It is a symbolic letting go of the past, and all the negativity that has gone before it.
It is a time to wash all our sins away.
Down at Haad Rin Pier, locals and tourists alike took part in this wistful Full Moon ceremony. After the clearing of sins, it was back to party business as usual. On Full Moon Party beach, the normal mixture of the sublime and the ridiculous, the cool and the crazy - the good looking and the bizarre! - could be witnessed the whole length of Haad Rin’s party beach.
Party people launched flying lanterns into the sky on this November Full Moon Party. Continuing the sense of the ceremonial, they set their sky lanterns free, making their own secret wishes of redemption. Dressed in festive costumes, their faces beamed smiles at the crazy night, the flying lights and the glorious sunrise.
That’s how Loi Krathong on this Full Moon Party will be remembered.
