Full Moon Party Koh Samui – Koh Phangan by Speedboat
Speedboats leave from Big Buddha Pier and Bo Phut (Fisherman’s Village) on Koh Samui. They arrive at Haad Rin Pier (20-30 mins) for the Full Moon Party on Koh Phangan. In case of stormy weather, expect to get splashed on the speedboat crossing! Prepare in advance: make sure you have waterproof coverings for your valuables, I-phone and camera.
Speedboat Tips:
• Leave your smartphone in a safe place
There are 100+ phones lost at every party. Very few are stolen. If you want to take mobile phones, we suggest you purchase a 700 baht phone before the party and leave your good phone in the hotel safe.
If you really want to take your good mobile phone, there are cheap waterproof pouches available.
• Buy Tickets at Pier
You can always arrive at Big Buddha or Fisherman’s Village yourself and buy tickets there. Price – 800 baht. This is a good option if you rent a scooter or stay not far and can walk to speedboat departure area. Otherwise the taxi costs a lot, so look below.
• Hotel Pick Up
Some companies can pick you up directly from your hotel. Book with a Koh Samui travel agency. We like Island Info Thailand in Chaweng – this company has an excellent reputation in security matters. Island Info charges 1,000 Baht and it includes hotel pick up and return.
• Take a VIP Ticket
If you have a VIP ticket, you will get back to Koh Samui on the next available speedboat – without having to queue. This saves you waiting 30-60 min in the main queue.
Full Moon Party Koh Samui – Koh Phangan by Ferry
If you are staying on the island of Koh Phangan for the Full Moon party, the best way to arrive is by ferry. Take the Haad Rin Queen from Big Buddha (45 mins) or a high speed ferry from Bang Rak Pier (30 mins) or Mae Nam (20 mins). Alternatively Songserm ferries (60mins) go from Na Thon Pier in the north of Koh Samui to Thong Sala Pier on Koh Phangan.
Ferries to Koh Phangan:
• Haad Rin Queen leaves from Big Buddha Pier to Haad Rin Pier.
Departs 4 times a day @ 10.30, 13.00, 16.00 & 18.30.
Duration – 45 mins. Price – 200 baht.
• Seatran Express leaves from Bang Rak Pier to Thong Sala Pier.
Departs 2 times a day @ 08.00 & 13.30.
Duration – 30 mins. Price – 300 baht.
• Lomprayah Catamaran leaves from Mae Nam Pier to Thong Sala.
Departs 2 times per day @ 08.30 & 12.00.
Duration – 20 mins. Price – 300 baht.
• Songserm Express leaves from Na Thon Pier to Thong Sala Pier.
Departs 2 times per day @ 11.00 & 17.00.
Duration – 60 mins. Price – 250 baht.
